Bhakkar targeted action foils flour hoarding bid
The Food Division Bhakkar carried out a senior officer protection action against hoarders, recovering a large quantity of flour from a secret warehouse during a targeted action conducted on a tip-off.
Sector Food Controller Adil Abbas Dagra led the protection action in the low-lying area of Mouza Kachi Shahani, where representatives seized approximately 30,000 kilograms of flour with an estimated market value of Rs2.8 million.
During the protection action, the secret warehouse used for storing the flour was sealed, and departmental as well as legal action has been initiated against the individuals involved.
Speaking to reporter Rana Amir Aslam, Sector Food Controller Adil Abbas Dagra stated the division had received information that a large quantity of flour had been illegally hoarded in the low-lying area of Mouza Kachi Shahani.
Acting promptly on the tip-off, the Food Division team conducted a targeted action and recovered the flour from the site.
He stated the hoarded flour was allegedly meant to be supplied to other cities and sold at higher prices, but the timely action of the division thwarted the attempt.
