Educational institutions to remain closed in Islamabad on Friday
Representatives have announced a general holiday for all of Islamabad’s educational institutions on Public demonstration 13 (Friday), according to a formal notice issued by the sector magistrate.
Shared by the Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon on his X account, the formal notice stated: “It is hereby notified that Public demonstration 13, 2026 (Friday), shall be observed as a general holiday for all educational institutions, both general and private, including institutions, colleges and academia, located within the income limits of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).”
The formal notice did not specify a reason for the ruling.
Earlier today, the Sindh province, too, announced a general holiday for Public demonstration 13. While the Sindh province’s formal notice also did not province the reason for which the general holiday was being announced, Sindh Municipal governing body Secretary Nasir Hussain Shah stated on Wednesday that the general holiday would be observed on Friday for Jummatul Wida.
