PM directs strategy for excess food items' export to Gulf states
Premier Shehbaz Sharif has directed representatives to formulate a comprehensive action strategy for exporting excess food items to Gulf countries, while ensuring that domestic requirements remain fully satisfied.
At a session chaired by the premier on Sunday in Lahore, representatives reviewed the country's food protection and discussed strategies for exporting excess food items to Gulf countries, taking into account the shifting regional dynamics.
The progress came during the Middle East conflict, in which premier directed complete monitoring of need and provision to ensure the country's food needs are fully met.
Highlighting regional developments, PM Shehbaz stated disruptions in global provision chains have increased the export potential of Pakistani products in the zone.
He emphasised that high standards must be maintained for outflows to brotherly Gulf countries. He also instructed the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation to take necessary measures to facilitate outflows via maritime routes.
