Provincial head Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved Punjab's first Artificial Intel (AI) Roadmap, setting a target to transform the territory into South Asia's leading AI-driven zone by 2029.
Under the drive, the world's first AI Delivery Military team will be established in Punjab to accelerate the adoption of artificial intel across general administration and general services. The provincial head will serve as the chairperson of both the military team and a special scheme team overseeing the roadmap's carrying out.
During a short report on the roadmap, Punjab AI Adviser Ali Dar informed the provincial head that the drive is expected to generate more than 100,000 employment opportunities over the next three years. The programme could also rise Punjab's National output (ECONOMIC OUTPUT) by five to 10 per cent and potentially raise external exchange reserves by $10 billion to $20 billion through technology-led expansion.
The roadmap outlines the progress of AI general facilities, governing body, citizen services, job skills progress, AI-driven economic expansion and general administration.
Four cross-functional teams will focus on special projects, figures management, strategic operations and strategic communications.
The provincial head also approved the establishment of an AI Technical Advisory Board, ordering that leading experts in the field be included to guide the drive.
