Sindh orders online classes at general, private academia from Public demonstration 16

The Sindh province has ordered all general and private academia across the territory to shift to online classes from Public demonstration 16 to 31 as part of sweeping austerity measures aimed at reducing energy consumption amid the ongoing global electricity scarcity.

Sindh Secretary for Academia and Boards Ismail Rahu stated the ruling was taken in view of the global condition and the need to conserve energy.

Under the command, academia will also cut the use of official vehicles and energy quotas by 50%, while 60% of institutional vehicles have been ordered to remain grounded.

A formal notice was issued by the Sindh Academia and Boards Division regarding the application of statute of online classes and energy quotas for the official vehicles used in the academia.

It is noteworthy to mention here that the University of Karachi and the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) already announced to hold virtual classes last week.
