Iran's External affairs chief Abbas Araghchi returned to Pakistan on Sunday as the country tries to keep the US-Iran negotiation formal dialogue on track despite Head Donald Trump calling off his envoys' planned trip, sources stated.
FM Araghchi landed in Islamabad following his visit to Oman, where he held dialogue with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq al-Stated on protection in the Strait of Hormuz and external efforts to end the Iran-US dispute.
During his second trip to Pakistan in two days, the Iranian external affairs chief is expected to hold dialogue with the country's top leadership.
According to the Iranian news bureau ISNA , Araghchi would convey "Iran's positions and views on the directive structure of any understanding to completely end the conflict".
Araghchi had been in Islamabad only the day before, after which he travelled to Oman, while other Iranian envoys had headed back to Tehran "to consult and obtain the necessary instructions on issues related to ending the conflict", according to ISNA .
