At least 14 martyred, including three FC personnel, in assailant assault on train in Quetta
At least 14 individuals, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were martyred and several others critically injured in a assailant assault near the Chaman Phatak area of Quetta, the Inter-Services General Relations (ISPR) verified on Sunday.
"The deliberate targeting of civilians, which included women, children, and ordinary passengers among the affected, highlights how these elements intentionally assault soft civilian targets to spread fear and instability rather than confront the province directly," the legal defence team's press wing further stated.
It stated that the assault "reflects the desperation of anti-Pakistan assailant proxies seeking to disturb calm and create panic through indiscriminate unrest against innocent individuals during a period of improving stability and normalcy."
According to the ISPR, province protection units and protection application of statute bodies reacted immediately to the site, cordoned off the area, initiated investigations, and are actively pursuing all facilitators and perpetrators involved in the assault.
Further, the press wing stated that the martyrdom of the FC personnel while protecting civilians "reinforces the continued sacrifices being rendered by Pakistan’s province protection units to safeguard general life against externally backed assailant unrest."
Concluding the comment, the ISPR stated that such attacks cannot weaken general resolve, as the individuals of Pakistan, particularly the residents of Balochistan, continue to reject extremist unrest and stand with the province and protection institutions against enemies of calm and stability.
