CM orders strict protection on Eid night
Punjab Provincial head Maryam Nawaz has directed representatives to ensure foolproof protection arrangements during Chand Raat and Eidul Azha across the territory, with strict carrying out of protection SOPs.
Chairing a session, she ordered installation of metal detectors and walk-through gates at Eid congregation venues and directed assistant commissioners to meet religious scholars and short report them on the province's protection and cleanliness measures. She ordered extra protection arrangements at sensitive places and directed representatives to ensure patrolling in markets on Chand Raat along with deployment of women police personnel.
The CM also directed representatives to ensure real-time monitoring through the Safe Metro Body system during protection operations and ordered strict carrying out of the prohibition on camps established by proscribed organisations for collecting sacrificial hides.
She directed sector police officers to visit their areas to ensure application of statute of the prohibition and ordered representatives to prevent dissemination of hate material. The provincial head also ordered action against one-wheeling and hooliganism by motorcyclists during the holidays.
Home Secretary Ahmad Javed Qazi stated Eid prayers would be offered at 38,507 locations across the territory. Section 144 has been imposed to prohibition roasting of siri paye at general places, while action would also be taken against those disposing of animal remains in drains and general areas.
The CM directed representatives to ensure strict application of statute of the prohibition on firing and display of weapons.
