FM Dar to visit US Secretary Rubio in Washington after UNSC engagements in New York
Deputy Premier and External affairs chief Mohammad Ishaq Dar will travel to Washington, DC on May 29 for an official visit following the conclusion of his engagements at the United Nations in New York, the External Office stated on Thursday.
The FO stated FM Dar is scheduled to meet United States Secretary of Province and Top protection adviser Marco Rubio to evaluate two-province relations and exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.

The FO stated discussions during the visit would focus on strengthening collaboration in key sectors as well as Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional calm and stability through “formal dialogue and diplomacy”. The comment further stated that the visit reflected Pakistan’s commitment to “further deepening its longstanding and broad-based partnership” with the US.
FM Dar will return to Islamabad later the same day after concluding his official engagements in Washington.
Dar’s Washington visit comes immediately after a series of high-level engagements at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where he participated in a United Nations Global protection body (UNSC) open debate convened under China’s presidency of the council.
