The Quetta sector governing body constituted a functional group on Monday to evaluate the financial and structural damages caused by the powerful explosion near Chaman Phatak, which asserted 14 lives and left many others injured.
According to an official formal notice, the panel was directed to begin work immediately and carry out a comprehensive poll of the affected area. The panel would assess damage to residential homes, shops, vehicles, commercial establishments, and other properties impacted by the explosion.
The Quetta deputy commissioner, who also serves as chairman of the Sector Compensation Panel, formed the panel to ensure a fair, transparent, and accurate assessment of losses suffered by local locals and industry owners.
The Quetta assistant commissioner (metro) was appointed as the head of the panel. Its members included senior representatives from the Counter Extremist unrest Division (CTD), Communication and Works Division, Metropolitan Corporation Quetta, and Agricultural Engineering Division.

The findings would be submitted to the sector governing body to determine appropriate compensation packages and assistance support measures for the affected families.
The explosion near Chaman Phatak caused widespread destruction in the densely populated area, shattering windows, damaging buildings, and destroying several parked vehicles.
