Iran states 'no technical dialogue' with US this week in Doha

Iran’s Deputy External affairs chief Kazem Gharibabadi stated on Monday that “no technical dialogue” with the US were scheduled this week in the Qatari capital Doha, refuting US press reports about dialogue to be held this Tuesday.

Gharibabadi stated press reports about holding technical working-group dialogue between Tehran and Washington in Doha “are not verified,” province news bureau IRNA documented.

“Technical meetings of the working groups are not scheduled for this week,” he further stated.

Gharibabadi stated consultations with Qatar were continuing, including efforts to follow up on the carrying out of US commitments under the recently signed memorandum of understanding.

“Although consultations with Qatar – including on following up on the carrying out of the other faction’s commitments – are ongoing as usual, the news from some press outlets that technical dialogue by the working groups will be held in Doha cannot be verified,” Gharibabadi stated in a comment on Telegram, as per Al Jazeera .

“The first round of technical dialogue within the directive structure of the designated working groups will be held when conditions are met, and after an accord is reached on the date and location. Consultations in this regard are continuing through intermediary countries,” he further stated.
