PM Shehbaz arrives in Turkiye after attending Khamenei's funeral in Iran
Premier Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Istanbul on Friday on a bilateral visit to Turkiye after a short report visit to Iran, where he attended the funeral rites of Iran's late supreme head, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The visit to Turkiye came at the invitation of Turkish Head Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to a official comment released by the Premier's Office (PMO).
The visit marks the premier's third trip to Turkiye in as many months. He had previously visited the country in April and May as part of efforts to promote bilateral ties and discuss regional developments.
According to the comment, the premier was received at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport by Turkish Secretary of Commerce Prof Dr Omer Bolat, Pakistan's Diplomatic representative to Turkiye Dr Yousaf Junaid, and representatives from the Turkish external government department and the Pakistani diplomatic mission.
Deputy Premier and External affairs chief Ishaq Dar and Information Secretary Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the premier on the visit.
The PMO stated PM Shehbaz and Head Erdogan would hold detailed discussions on all aspects of Pakistan-Türkiye two-province relations.
