Punjab institutions get dual heads
The School Learning Division has approved the appointment of two headmasters, principals or headmistresses in every school in the name of "educational improvement".
It has also given final endorsement for the rationalisation of educators across primary, middle and high institutions from August and for outsourcing another 5,550 primary, middle and high institutions. Applications have also been invited from prospective buyers.
According to the Learning Division, the appointment of two heads in every school will be completed before the end of the summer vacations.
One will be a regular headmaster, while the other will be an OPS (own pay scale) headmaster.
The OPS headmaster will observe teaching activities, ensure student attendance, submit reports on school activities to the regular headmaster, focus on academic results and work with educators to improve the educational environment. The regular headmaster will supervise overall school governing body, observe educators, improve learners' academic and moral standards, prepare school progress plans and maintain coordination with learning officers while submitting performance reports.
Rawalpindi Executive Learning Officer Yasin Baloch stated the appointment of two headmasters would improve educational standards, strengthen school management, enhance learners' training and improve educators' performance.
