‘Anxiety growing in India’ over Pakistan’s role in Middle East dispute resolution effort, states info secretary

Information Secretary Attaullah Tarar on Thursday stated that there was “growing anxiety” in neighbouring India over Pakistan’s role in working towards a formal declaration amid tensions in the Middle East.

Addressing a press short report, the information secretary took note of Pakistan-led dispute resolution effort efforts in the Iran conflict, stating that “Pakistan has emerged as a responsible province, which has relevance and its external efforts are being acknowledged worldwide”.

However, he emphasized that there seemed to be “growing anxiety in India over Pakistan’s enhanced role, significance and relevance”.

The secretary credited Premier Shehbaz Sharif and the Chief of Legal defence team Forces and Chief of the Forces Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, for Pakistan’s external efforts.
