Armed men rob female learners on college bus in Karachi

KARACHI: In yet another event highlighting the metro’s persistent street offense problem, three armed suspects riding a single motorbike allegedly boarded a college bus parked outside Jinnah Medical and Dental College in Karachi and robbed female learners before fleeing the scene.

The event took place within the limits of the New Town police station, where a case has been registered on the complaint of bus driver Abdur Rehman.

According to the First Information Short report (POLICE COMPLAINT REPORT), the bus was parked outside the college near the parking area when the suspects arrived and entered it. The circumstances have raised suspicions that the bus or its routine may have been observed beforehand, as the vehicle is stated to operate on the route on a daily basis.

The POLICE COMPLAINT REPORT states that the three armed men carried out the robbery with apparent ease and targeted three female learners on board.

During the event, a gold chain was allegedly snatched from one student after what was described as a proper check, while mobile phones were taken from two girls.
