Pakistan 'delivers' US suggested strategy to Iran ahead of possible dialogue to end conflict
Pakistan has delivered a US suggested strategy to Iran, a senior Iranian source informed Reuters on Wednesday, but the venue of any dialogue between Tehran and Washington to end the conflict has yet to be decided.
The source, who asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, did not disclose details of the suggested strategy and whether it was the 15-point US directive structure suggested strategy to end the conflict documented by news outlets.
The source also stated Turkiye was helping to find ways to end the conflict and "either Turkiye or Pakistan are under consideration as the venue for such dialogue".
The risk of a prolonged conflict in Iran spilling over into Pakistan is among Islamabad's biggest fears, analysts and protection representatives say. Pakistan, which has been engaged in a dispute with the Afghan Taliban, has also suffered from energy disruptions caused by the Iran conflict, which was started by the US-Israel on February 28.
The progress comes two days after the Financial Times documented that Pakistan is positioning itself as the lead mediator trying to broker an end to the US and Israeli conflict against Iran.
