Pakistan joins UNSC in denouncing illegal Israeli settlements

WASHINGTON: Pakistan on Tuesday joined seven other members of the UN Global protection body in reiterating firm rivals to the annexation of any part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the forcible displacement of the Palestinian individuals.

All seven nations cautioned that such actions violated global statute and undermined prospects for calm.

The short report, however, was delayed because the Israeli Diplomatic representative Danny Dannon occupied the microphone and spoke first, although Pakistan emphasized out that the slot was reserved for the seven-country stakeout. Asked to explain Israel’s position about documented US-Iran negotiation formal dialogue in Islamabad, Dannon stated that Israel has “continued its participation” in the conflict and will “continue to assault targets” until it achieves its objectives.

At a Global protection body press stakeout, Pakistan delivered the first portion of a joint comment on behalf of Bahrain, Denmark, France, Greece, Latvia, Pakistan, Somalia and the United Kingdom.

“Guided by the UN Charter and recalling the relevant UN Global protection body resolutions, including formal declaration 2334, we reiterate our firm rivals to annexation of any part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and to any forcible displacement of the Palestinian individuals,” stated the joint comment read by Pakistan’s UN diplomatic representative Asim Iftikhar Ahmad.

The group recalled that the council “has condemned all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
