Pakistan, with China, reaffirms commitment to regional calm, diplomacy amid Mideast crisis

Pakistan and China have once again put regional calm and diplomacy in the spotlight, the Government department of External relations (MoFA) stated, with both countries threading a delicate path through tensions, coordinating at multiple levels, and underscoring Islamabad’s role in steering dialogue amid a volatile zone.

Deputy Premier and Secretary for External relations, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a telephone conversation with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Panel and Secretary of External relations of the Individuals’s Republic of China, Wang Yi.

During the call, the two leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional condition.

The MoFA comment stated Dar underscored Pakistan's consistent commitment to formal dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable means for the peaceful formal declaration of global disputes.

It further stated that he underscored Pakistan's ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the zone and emphasised that its drive to facilitate the next round of Iran-United States dialogue reflects this principled approach.
