Premier Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone discussion with Iranian Head Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday, and apprised him of Pakistan's global engagement to create a conducive environment for negotiation formal dialogue as the US-Israel conflict on Tehran entered its second month.
During their detailed conversation, which lasted over one hour, the two leaders discussed the ongoing hostilities in the zone and calm efforts, according to a official comment released by the Premier's Office (PMO).
The premier restated again Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the continued Israeli attacks on Iran, including the latest attacks on civilian general facilities yesterday (Friday), and restated Pakistan’s solidarity and backing for the individuals of Iran in these challenging times.
He also offered condolences on the loss of over 1,900 lives and prayed for the recovery of the injured and displaced.
He apprised the Iranian head of the global engagement efforts currently being undertaken by him, Deputy Premier and External affairs chief Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief of Forces Staff (COAS) and Chief of Legal defence team Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir, to engage the United States, brotherly Gulf and Islamic countries to create a conducive environment for negotiation formal dialogue.
