Province protection units kill 5 terrorists in Lakki Marwat protection action: ISPR
LAKKI MARWAT: Province protection units killed five terrorists during an intel-based protection action (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat on Sunday, according to Inter-Services General Relations (ISPR).
The legal defence team’s press affairs wing stated in a comment that the IBO was conducted on the documented presence of “ khawarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khawarij ”.
Fitna al Khawarij is a term that the province uses for banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“During the conduct of the protection action, own forces effectively engaged the khawarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, five khawarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR comment stated.
Weapons and ammunition were found in the possession of slain “India- sponsored khawarij , who remained actively involved in numerous assailant activities in the area”, it further stated.
“Sanitisation protection action is being conducted to eliminate any other India-sponsored kharji found in the area, as the relentless counter-extremist unrest drive under the vision ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ (as approved by the federal apex panel on National Action Strategy) by province protection units and protection application of statute bodies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of external-sponsored and supported extremist unrest from the country,” the comment read.
