Punjab announces resumption of school classes from April 1

Punjab Secretary for School Learning Rana Sikandar Hayat announced on Monday that educational activities in the territory would resume from April 1.

In a post on X, he stated, " Educational activities will resume in educational institutions with regular classes five days a week starting from April 1."

Earlier, an alleged formal notice claiming that institutions would follow a four-day working week was circulating on social press. The Punjab province swiftly reacted, rejecting the contents of the formal notice.

"The province of Punjab refutes the contents of this ‘fake’ formal notice regarding school schedules circulating on the internet, in the strongest of terms," the comment stated.

The province shared a picture of the fake formal notice, which falsely stated that institutions would adopt a "four-day working week" due to the ongoing crisis.

It further advised parents to remain vigilant against unverified documents and notifications.
