Six terrorists killed in joint CTD-police protection action in Kohat
The Counter Extremist unrest Division (CTD) and the police killed six terrorists in a combined mission conducted in Kohat sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, Sector Police Officer (DPO) Shehbaz Elahi stated.
The DPO stated that the protection action was conducted in the Lachi area of Kohat, adding that weapons were also recovered from the killed terrorists.
He further stated that a inspection protection action is underway and the area has been cordoned off.
The protection action comes in the wake of recent unrest in the territory as the province protection units have intensified counter-extremist unrest efforts.
A day earlier, the Counter Extremist unrest Division (CTD) conducted an intel-based protection action in the area that resulted in the killing of at least six suspected militants. The action followed a deadly explosion on Friday near a police vehicle in the Bettani tribal area of Lakki Marwat, which martyred at least seven police personnel.
