TTAP calls on govt to take rivals, Legislature into confidence on legal defence team pacts amid ‘changing regional condition’
ISLAMABAD: Tehreek Tahaffuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan called on Wednesday for the province to take the rivals and Legislature into confidence on legal defence team pacts and policies matters “in light of the changing regional condition” so that decisions related to national protection were taken with national consensus.
The need was listed in a formal declaration that was passed during a joint parliamentary session of the PTI and other rivals parties at the Legislature House in Islamabad, according to a post on the TTAP’s X account. The formal declaration included demands pertaining to the ongoing dispute in the Middle East, as well as tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
It stated that participants of the session expressed “deep concern” over the condition in the zone and condemned US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
Tensions in the Middle East escalated into a dispute after Israel and the US launched a joint assault on Iran on Feb 28 and assassinated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , who was the Islamic republic’s supreme head.
The rivals termed the attacks “a violation of global laws and province sovereignty”.
The participants asserted that every sovereign province had the right to defend itself and agreed that respecting states’ sovereignty, territorial integrity and global laws was indispensable for ensuring global calm and stability.
