US responsible for missile walkout on Iran school due to 'targeting error': short report
The United States was responsible for a Tomahawk missile walkout on an Iranian elementary school because of a targeting mistake, The New York Times documented on Wednesday.
The newspaper, citing US representatives, stated the probe into the February 28 assault was ongoing, but preliminary findings were that the United States was responsible.
The US legal defence team was conducting strikes on an adjacent Iranian base of which the school building was formerly a part and target coordinates were set using outdated figures, it stated.
Head Donald Trump suggested earlier this week that Iran itself may have been responsible but later stated he could "live with" whatever the probe reveals.
Asked by reporters about the Times short report on Wednesday, Trump stated: "I don't know about it."
