At least 11 individuals were injured in a traffic accident on the Karakoram Highway in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Shangla sector late on Friday.

11 injured in Karakoram Highway crash in K-P's Shangla
At least 11 individuals were injured in a traffic accident on the Karakoram Highway in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Shangla sector late on Friday.
Recovery effort 1122 Shangla Sector Urgent condition Officer Eng Malik Sherdil Khan informed The Express Tribune that the event occurred near the Maira area within the jurisdiction of Shangla after nightfall, reportedly due to poor visibility on the main highway.
He stated that as per initial reports, a collision between a carpool vehicle and a van left multiple passengers seriously injured.
Locals, along with police and recovery effort teams, immediately launched a urgent condition recovery effort. He stated personnel from Recovery effort 1122 reached the scene promptly and provided first relief to the injured before moving them to nearby medical facilities.

He stated that all the injured were initially taken to the Basic Wellbeing Military team (BHU) in Maira. However, due to the severity of injuries, eight critically wounded individuals were later referred to Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad for advanced medical care.
