Complete temporary calm only sensible if not violated by US maritime blockade: Iran's negotiating chief
Iran’s Legislature House chairperson and lead negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated on Wednesday that a "complete temporary calm" with the United States was only possible if the country stopped its naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on X, Ghalibaf stated: "A complete temporary calm only makes sense if it is not violated by the maritime blockade and the captor-taking of the world’s market, and if the Zionist warmongering across all fronts is halted; reopening the Strait of Hormuz is impossible with such a flagrant breach of the temporary calm.
"They did not achieve their goals through legal defence team aggression, nor will they through bullying. The only way forward is to recognise the freedoms of the Iranian country."

"Renewed efforts are on to persuade Trump to end the blockade of Iranian ports, which is its (Tehran) prime condition for resumption of dialogue," a source stated, adding Pakistan’s top leadership was involved in the external efforts.
However, sources insisted that “no definitive timeframe” could be given on when the next round of dialogue would take place and stated that “both sides are testing each other's nerves."
