Iran rules out new dialogue for now, states US not serious about diplomacy

TEHRAN: Iran's External Government department representative Esmaeil Baghaei stated on Monday that there is no strategy for a second round of dialogue with the United States for now.

Baghaei further stated in a press short report that the US was not serious about pursuing diplomacy, citing what it called "breaches" of their two-week temporary calm.

"While claiming diplomacy and readiness for dialogue, the US is carrying out behaviours that do not in any way indicate seriousness in pursuing a external process," stated government department representative Esmaeil Baqaei in a weekly press short report.

He stated a US assault on an Iranian cargo ship early Monday, the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, and delays in implementing a temporary calm in Lebanon were all "clear breaches of the temporary calm".

Tehran refused new negotiation formal dialogue for now, citing the ongoing blockade, threatening rhetoric, and Washington's shifting positions and "excessive demands".
