A local judiciary handed down death punishment command to a man and acquitted three co-charged individual giving them the benefit of doubt while deciding a murder case here Wednesday.
Additional Sector and Sessions Magistrate Zafarullah Niazi pronounced the ruling in the two-year-old murder case in hamlet 158/EB, finding the main charged individual, Riaz alias Booti, guilty of killing Ghulam Fareed Wahga, and awarded capital punishment to him.
The convict was also directed to pay Rs500,000 as compensation to the heirs of the deceased.
According to Advocate Mirza Zahid Mahmood who represented the province lawyers, the charged individual Riaz alias Booti, Riaz Kharal, Ghulam Fareed and Ashraf had allegedly shot dead the casualty over an old enmity.
