Two children mauled by stray dogs in Khanewal

The growing attacks of stray dogs in Khanewal and surrounding areas has left locals alarmed after two children were severely injured in an event, with one shifted to Multan in critical condition.

The event occurred in Nanakpur hamlet where two boys—eight-year-old Abdul Hannan and ten-year-old Shahzaib—were on their way to a grocery shop when a pack of stray dogs attacked them in the street, mauling them badly.

Both children were rushed to the Sector Headquarters Hospital Khanewal, where Shahzaib received stitches on his head and care for multiple injuries.

Due to the critical condition of Abdul Hannan, he was later referred to the Children's Hospital in Multan.

The event sparked protests among local locals, prompting the sector governing body to take immediate action.Dog culling teams were dispatched to the area to control the stray dog inhabitants.

Locals, however, alleged that despite official claims, effective measures have not been implemented across the sector, and children continue to fall casualty to dog attacks on a daily basis.
