Make us preferred on Google Supporters of the banned Joint Awami Action Panel (JAAC) chant slogans following a shutter-down walkout in Muzaffarabad on October 2, 2025. — Reuters DHIRKOT: Central head of the banned Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Panel (JAAC), Shaukat Nawaz Mir, was arrested along with an associate in Dhirkot, Muzaffarabad Deputy Commissioner Munir Qureshi stated on Tuesday.
The DC stated Mir was arrested by police and protection personnel from the Hail Sarang area. He further stated that Mir and his associate have subsequently been moved to an undisclosed location.
It is noteworthy to mention here that the AJK province had imposed a prohibition on the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Panel (JAAC) on June 5 under the Anti-Extremist unrest Statute (ATA) after violent protests.
The prohibition was imposed days ahead of the banned outfit's planned June 9 demonstration seeking the abolition of 12 seats in the AJK reserved for refugees from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) who migrated to Pakistan after 1947.
