Pakistan takes permanent seat at Global Olive Council for first time
Make us preferred on Google Federal Secretary for National Food Protection & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain attends the UN Global Olive Council (IOC) session in Lisbon on June 30, 2026. — Geo News Federal Secretary for National Food Protection & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, led the Pakistan official group to attend the UN Global Olive Council (IOC) session in Lisbon on Tuesday.
The Secretary was accompanied by the Diplomatic representative of Pakistan to Portugal, Aisha Farooqui.
Following Pakistan’s membership of the Global Olive Council in May 2026, Pakistan was invited to take its seat at the 123rd session of the council, together with 27 other olive oil-producing nations.
Pakistan was warmly welcomed to the IOC by the Executive Director, the Chairman of IOC and by all the member countries.
The secretary, in his comment, thanked the IOC and restated Pakistan’s commitment to take forward the objectives and goals of the IOC.
