Bilawal, Fazl urge govt, protesters to resolve AJK crisis through formal dialogue
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakistan Peoples Faction (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday called for formal dialogue to resolve the ongoing unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while announcing an poll alliance for the upcoming elections in the zone and urging both sides to pursue a peaceful solution.
Addressing a joint press short report after their session, Fazl revealed that the banned Joint Awami Action Panel (JAAC) had approached him to mediate the crisis, while Bilawal stated that he was prepared to play a role in resolving the issue regardless of the personal consequences.
The JUI-F chief stated the peaceful occupation protest in AJK was continuing and disclosed that, following his offer to mediate, the JAAC had sent a official group to him and formally sought his dispute resolution effort.
He stated Bilawal had supported his dispute resolution effort efforts in Legislature despite being part of the province.
"We are jointly conveying a message to the premier as well, and we hope Shehbaz Sharif will take positive steps regarding the condition in Azad Kashmir," he stated.
