NCHR urges prompt probe into roof collapse
The National Board for Civil liberties (NCHR) has urged representatives to conduct a prompt, transparent and thorough probe into the roof collapse at a tuition centre in the Kahna area.
In a official comment released on Tuesday, the board extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Expressing deep sorrow over the event, it called for those responsible to be identified and held accountable in accordance with the statute, stressing the need for effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The NCHR also sought a short report from the Sargodha sector police officer about a documented case of a boy allegedly sexually abused and buried alive. It called for a prompt and transparent fact-finding process into the matter.
