At least 16 individuals have lost their lives and 38 were left injured across the country in rain- and deluge-related incidents over the past week.
According to the National Urgent condition response management Body (NDMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emerged as the worst-hit territory.
The NDMA, in its latest condition short report covering the period from June 26 to July 2, stated the victims were caused by heavy monsoon rains, collapsing houses and flash floods.
Among the 16 victims were five men, four women and seven children, while the injured included 14 men, four women and 20 children. The body stated house collapses and flash floods were the leading causes of deaths during the reporting period.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa suffered the highest human toll, recording nine deaths and 26 injuries, making it the territory most severely affected by the ongoing monsoon spell.
Punjab documented four deaths and nine injuries. The deceased included one man, one woman and two children, while the injured comprised three men, one woman and five children.
